List of Common Commercial Appliances

Below are some of the most common commercial appliances that you may have and what they’re for:

Commercial Refrigerators & Freezers

Commercial refrigerators are used in a number of industries. Mainly you’ll find them being used for food and medicine storage. These appliances tend to be large, and efficient, ensuring that costs will stay down, and everything will stay cool.

Commercial Ovens & Ranges

Commercial ovens and ranges are mainly used for restaurants, and catering businesses, and, like the fridges, are meant to be very large and efficient, allowing them to quickly heat up to assist in large-scale cooking.

Commercial Dishwashers

Commercial dishwashers are made for large-scale washing operations that you might find in a restaurant, or another food-adjacent industry. They’re also very large scale, allowing you to clean large amounts of dirty dishes in a short time.

Commercial Ice Machines

Commercial ice machines are also widely used in the food and beverage industries. You may find one at a restaurant, a hotel, or even a bar. They are built to produce large amounts of ice in a short period of time.

Commercial Pizza Oven

Of course, commercial pizza ovens are also widely used in restaurants and other food-adjacent industries. They are large enough to accommodate cooking mass amounts of pizza at once.

Pre-Move Planning

Before you begin your move, you’re going to need to get a plan in place. First, you’re going to need to have a moving crew picked out. These appliances tend to be very heavy, so they may require multiple sets of hands. You’re also going to need various pieces of equipment to move each appliance, but we’ll get more on that later. Of course, you’ll also need a vehicle to move them. Finally, for anything that involves water, you’re going to need to unplug them and let them dry off a day in advance. We at Sullivan Industrial Services can provide both the manpower and the vehicles to ensure that your appliances are moved safely and quickly. We can also help you devise a more thorough pre-moving plan to ensure that the job gets done effectively.

Plant Relocation and Reorganization Guide

For one reason or another, you may find it more beneficial to relocate your plant. An endeavor easier said than done. There is a lot that goes into relocating and reorganizing a plant or shop. You have to consider your employees, equipment, budget, productivity, etc.

Equipment Needed

In terms of equipment, it’ll depend on what you’re specifically moving, but since most of the items listed above are very heavy, you’re going to at least need a dolly, or a hand truck to move them. Apart from that you need things like blankets, or cardboard to put down to protect your floors as you move these appliances over them. Bungee cords and straps are also a must to secure everything as you move, especially when you get your appliances into your truck.

Transporting the Appliances

As mentioned earlier, you’re going to need a vehicle that can accommodate large commercial appliances. If you’re only moving a few things then a sturdy pickup truck can probably do the trick in a few trips. However, if you’re moving a larger amount, then you may need to get yourself a larger van, or even a moving truck for the day. Of course, you can also get help from us, and we’ll bring the necessary vehicles for the job. If you do work solo, make sure you strap them in once they’re in the truck! Also, if you’re moving refrigerators, try not to put them on their back, refrigerant could end up leaking into the rest of the unit which could ultimately damage it.

Reinstallation at the New Location

Once you’ve gotten everything over to your new place, you’re going to need to set everything back up again. You should’ve already mapped out where you wanted everything to go before you arrived, so make sure to unload your appliances into their new spots. After that, you’ll need to go through the process of plugging everything back in. Once everything is set up, you should consider testing all of the appliances to make sure they work properly, especially if you plan on using them in the near future. You wouldn’t want to be open for business and have something not working. The reinstallation process can be long if you don’t plan for it accordingly. We’ll make sure to work with you to map out exactly where you want everything after the move.
